Dan-Dan means ‘gradually’ in Japanese. Learning another language takes time!
The word Dan has another meaning. Have you ever heard of ‘Dans’ that you earn in Karate (Belts)? The Dan-Dan series works in the same sense, in that you earn ‘belts’. Traditional Japanese karate is based on first earning your ‘Kyuu’ belts and then progressing to your ‘Dan’ belts. The colour of the belts vary from karate school to school.
It is our aim to produce a series of resources (Year Courses and Term Courses) for all levels of Japanese for the Australian school system.
